infinity war

How does the movie explore the idea/theme of sacrifice?  I've watched this movie when it came to theaters and I thought it was such a good movie. I believe this movie shows sacrifice because you have to go through a loss or a hard point in life in order to succeed in life. Are there different kinds of sacrifice in the movie?  Yes, there was Thanos who sacrificed his adopted daughter in order to gain something for himself, but the members of avengers sacrificed their lives in order to save the universe.  What role does it play in the movie?  Sacrifice plays a main role in this movie. If there was no sacrifice the movie definitely wouldn't be as good and the theme would be very confusing. What impact does it have on the characters? Showing sacrifice in each of the characters shows that they all have a soft spot and makes the viewer feel like they know more about the character. Like how Thanos had to sacrifice something that he loved in order to get the sou...

the matrix pt 2

1. In the film Neo was told that people could not accept total happiness; that people expected a certain amount of misery and suffering. Do you believe this to be true? Why or why not?  This could be true because a lot of people always look at the negative even though something really good is going on.  2. The movie seems to make a number of religious references – particularly to Christianity. Consider the following: Neo was referred to as “The One.” Was he a Christ-figure? Why or why not? What are some of the parallels?  He might be a crest figure but I feel he might have just been the most powerful person in the Matrix. I don't know anything about christ so I don't know how they could be the same. Just that they are both not fully human. 3. Trinity refers to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. What did the character Trinity represent in the film? Could the Oracle represent God? Yes it could because they both know everything Who might Morpheus...

the matrix

1. What is The Matrix? Why does it exist?  The matrix is a computerized dream world. It exists because the machines are taking over and they needed to make a world for the humans so they could take over the real world. 2. Why did Morpheus and his followers consider The Matrix evil? What analogies and similarities can you find to other situations or stories? Be sure to consider the roles of technology in today’s world (i.e. the Internet, bank cards, satellites, etc.). They might think that the Matrix is evil because they decided everything in your life. It is like our world because the government chooses what we can or cannot do. The internet also decides somethings like how they plant things in our mind and shows us what is right and what is wrong.  3. The movie raises questions about reality. Morpheus states that, “reality is merely electrical signals interpreted by the brain. Your mind makes it real.” Is it possible for people to have different views of reality...

inception pt 3

Would you give up the ability to dream normally if it meant that you could share dreams like they do in this film? Why or why not? Yes I would give up normal dreaming if I could share a dream like they do. I feel like the way we dream isn't fully like reality In some ways yes we may feel it was real, but if you really think about it we never really dream in detail, at least not me. but the way that they dream is pretty cool because you get to chose where you want to go if you are the creator of the dream. But i also like how we dream tho because it's something that just happens that we can't control so we never  know what we are going to dream. I also would be scared of diving in my dream because I don't want to die in real life.

What do Mal’s continued appearances in Cobb’s dreams symbolize, in your opinion? Provide examples from the film and an explanation to support your answer. I think that Mal symbolizes Cobs guilt that he has for Mal's death.  She ends up showing up in all of the dreams hat he is in to try and distract him. I believe that she does this because he blames himself for her suicide and it's a self punishment he holds on to bad venison's of Mal. This then is Cobb's self conscious telling him that he should have been more mindful of Mal. For example in the beginning of the movie she is in Saito's self conscious to distract Cobb from his mission. Also parts of the night that Mal died keeps showing up while Cobb and the others are in Fisher's self conscious. Over all, Mal is a symbol of Cobb's guilt of her death.

Inception

1. Cobb and his team specialize in manipulating someone’s thoughts or dreams to extract or plant ideas and information. Discuss the different ways you see information manipulated in the world around you. How does the control of information impact perception/reality? Information  is manipulated in the world because they way the news or social media puts out the information. Or some may see the information like the way the majority of the population sees the The control of information can help people stay calm. like the government can keep information hidden so that the country doesn't go  crazy.

Montage Summary

Image
How does the use of montage illustrate the intention of directors and what is its effect on the audien ce? The director uses montage, which uses a bunch of short clips that are edited together to show a lot of information to the audience. They also use the background music to give an effect on the audience. At the end of the movie If I Stay it shows a montage of everything that she enjoyed in life through shot slowed chips. It speeds up until it goes to white and the background music is a mixture of her boyfriend singing, others talking about her living and there's sound effects that make it sound like her life is crashing down. This montage makes the view feel tension and sadness.

Metropolis Summarizer

What is the Mediator? I believe that the mediator is the conflict between the upper class and the lower class.   Is Fritz Lang trying to influence his audience?  Yes, he is trying to show that the upper and lower classes should learn to be treated the same way. He's trying to make the audience realize that the upper class always gets what they want and the lower class is always controlled by the upper half.  Is he advocating for Capitalism? Communism?  Fascism?  Im not sure what all of those fully mean but I looked up the definitions of them and I believe its communism. The definition of communism is  a political theory derived from Karl Marx, advocating class war and leading to a society in which all property is publicly owned and each person works and is paid according to their abilities and needs Here are a couple films that where influenced by metropoli s,  The Matrix ; the videos for Madonna's ...

critique reflection

the comments I received on my film-  first clip was good  good canting shot  strong walk-through pop in was well done  good use of tripod  good acting  the theme was good  what you feel you or your group did best- We used a lot of composition in the shots. Reflect on what your classmates said you or your group did well- I agreed that some of the shots where well done but not all of them i feel where the best it could be  Improvements- We could have actually done a chase film rather than what we did.  we could have also not have wasted so much time on useless shots. What are your strengths and how can you make them even better? I feel like if i had a chance to use the camera i could have made the shots better but i also didn’t really fully understand the whole story. In the future i want to be the main person the controls the camera. also i want to make the film better understanding.

Its important because it gives an over view of the event so it helps others that don't know about the topic or didn't see the topic in person   How is it different than other forms of photography? It is different because the pictures are focused on a specific topic and it tries to show emotional views to the people viewing the pictures. Some could also be like a story, where it has pictures in chronological order with text explaining each of them How has photojournalism changed in your lifetime?
